November 29, 2009,  after a two year hiatus, the Soul Train Music Awards returned and the stars came out glorious!! Jaden Smith AKA The Karate Kid

Eleven-year-old son of Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith, Jaden Smith, has been chosen to play the role of the "Karate Kid" opposite of Jackie Chan. The new movie will be a remake of the 1984 classic. According to Essence Magazine, Jaden trained four months to fit the part of the role....he's only 11!! If you recall, Jaden's first movie role was opposite his dad in "The Pursuit Of Happyness."

Toni and Trey's Kiss

If you missed the kiss that's creating sooo much buzz in the music industry, here is the video. I love this song...I think they mesh well together. i believe the media is putting too much hype into this though..I thought the kiss was a lot steamier than this, lol. Nonetheless, Toni and her husband of 8 years are still set to divorce...

KRAVE Magazine

Gentlemen, this is for you...No one in Memphis has probably been able to walk into a store and pick up a copy of KRAVE magazine because its only distributed in Dallas, Atlanta, and Houston. KRAVE Magazine is purely a mens based magazine differentiating itself by producing a publication that is above the many magazines that you see today target toward Hip Hop. The magazine is purely for the "man with swagger."  This magazine only feature men on the covers of course, but the magazine has also gained the attention of female readers and is doing quite successful. It is the only magazine of its kind and hopes to expand its business to New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Washington D.C. I like this magazine's concept. I think its a real positive and respected out look to have for today's man of color. I know that people get tired of the same old thing. Good job KRAVE!!!

Ashley Greene More Alive Than Ever

So you may recognize actress Ashley Greene as Alice Cullen on the it book/movie Twilight. Well, she looks much more different here than she does in the movie!! She's very pretty any way, but Maxim magazine photographed her in these photos for the upcoming December 2009 issue. I think she is gorgeous and I know she's popular with the fellas already! A lot of Twilight fans are confused because Rosalie is suppose to be the "beautiful" one...but it seems to me that Alice has totally stole her thunder outside of the movie, lol.

Even though it's been a while since J.Lo gave birth to her twins, you can't even tell!! She looks gorgeous in this picture while running errands. I love her! That's how I want my stomach! Lol.

Disney's First African American Cartoon

Congrats to Disney!! They have released word on their new film coming out December 11, 2009. What's so special about this? ITS AN AFRICAN AMERICAN cartoon!! I'm so happy the Disney decided to do something like this. Before, I never really noticed that all the past cartoons were Caucasian because animals and such would be a part of the cartoon line. My favorite has always been the Lion King. I don't know if this movie will take its place, but I'll certainly be seeing it when it hits theaters.

The movie is about a girl name Tiana, who finds out about a witch's spell who turned Prince Naveen into a frog. In order to break the spell, she must kiss the frog. But instead of the spell holding it's true word, she turns into a frog herself!! The two must go on a journey as frogs to reach the good voodoo priestess of the Bayou, who's name is Mama Odie. Their journey and new acquaintances are the plot of the movie.
I love the style and look Disney gave all the characters!! Everybody is beautiful! I think Prince Naveen is handsome and Tiana doesn't have a ghetto look about her, but still looks and fits the role that she has been given. This is a classy and sophisticated spin and I love it.

I don't know who's seen New Moon and who hasn't but I must say, Taylor Lautner AKA Jacob Black did a hell of a job getting his body right to fit the part of the werewolf he plays. In the books, he's tall, rugged and handsome with muscles no human can even imagine obtaining....well he sort of fitted the part very well in New Moon. The young 17-year-old packed on 30 pounds of muscle to play this part!!! If you haven't seen this movie..GO SEE IT. It's really good!

The First Lady is a showstopper!!

So if you don't already know... I LOVE Michelle Obama! She definately has a sense of fashion and she is a great First Lady (from what I see) and I love the fact that she supports little known designers! We all remember how she wore Taiwan-born designer, Jason Wu's dresses during the election process last year.. Well Tuesday, November 24, 2009, The state dinner held at the White House welcoming Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Mrs. Gursharan Kaur. The dinner dress that she has on below was designed by a man name Naeem Khan, an Indian-American desginer. I love this dress and congrats to Mr. Khan for the dress and the business he's about to receive for dressing our First Lady!

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2009!!

Check out these HOTT new photos from the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show that will be airing on Dec. 1!! In an earlier post, I mentioned that model Heidi Klum would not be walking this year because of the recent birth of her daughter. It is AMAZING that she surprised us all by losing 45lbs in 5 weeks!!!!!!!!! And she hope to lose 20 more. I think all of these models are gorgeous and I can't wait to see the show!

Demi Moore Looks Great at 47!

Check out actress Demi Moore on the latest cover of W Magaine coming out in December! She look gorgeous at 47. The actress, married to That 70's Show and Punk'd producer Ashton Kutcher, is receiving heat over this cover however. Apparently when photoshopping the final product, a chunk of her hip was taken, leaving white space. If you look closely, its her left hip. I love the cover overall anyway; yet I do agree, they need to photoshop her hip back where it goes.

NOH8

NOH8, which is a silent protest against Propositon 8, is sweeping the nation by storm. For those of you that don't know, Proposition 8 originated out of California and is a ballot banning Gay/Lesbian Marriages. Many stars are silently protesting through photos with there mouths bound with tape and the words "NOH8"on their cheeks. The latest people to join this campaign are the Kardashian sisters. These photos are amazing and I'm glad they, as well as others are standng up for what they believe in without shame!!

And I strongly encourage you to watch the PSA about the NOH8 campaign....

High Profile Photographer: Derek Blanks

If you're really into photography, a person you should definately familiarize yourself with is high profile photographer, Derek Blanks. Born and raised in Mississippi, Derek Blanks graduated Magna Cum Laude in Baltimore with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. Based now out of Atlanta, Georgia, you can see he's doing it big! As you take a look at some of his work below, you can obviously see his talent is UNDENIABLE. He's notorious for his Alter Ego photo shoots. I love these pictures...I think each one of them tells their oen little story.

Twilight Saga Continues!

These days, the saga Twilight, written by Stephanie Meyers, is sweeping the nation rapidly. The love story of a vampire and a human girl is what all young girls and some guys are reading and talking about today. "New Moon," the second book out of four is about to come to life as the movie hits theater November 20, 2009. I, personally, am a HUGE Twilight fan and can't wait to see the movie. Brad and Angelina Work to Give Back

According to Women's Wear Daily, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are designing their own jewelry line to benefit a charity that Jolie cofounded called Education Partnership for Children of Conflict,  whose mission is to educate young children who have been involved in war, natural disasters and conflict.. The jewelry line will be designed ans sold in a store called Asprey located in New York, London, Beverly Hills, Tokyo, and Dubai. The line will feature baby gifts,such as a $525 silver baby spoon with a curving serpent shaped handle and go up from there!! For the older children and adults, there are pendants and rings available. All of the jewelry features serpents! The best thing about this, however, is that all net proceeds go to Jolie's charity!

Ciara looks DAZZLING at the MOCA Gala!!

The Museum of Comtemporary Art in L.A. hosted its 30th annual MOCA Gala on November 14. Stars such as Brad and Angelina and Gwen Stefani with husband Gavin were in attendance. At this event, Ciara looks AMAZING!!! I remember when she first emerged on the scene...now she's definately earned her spot. I love her look and her music. She did it big with the dress and the shoes. So she had to keep it simple with the makeup and the hair and it works for her too. Check out those amazing pumps too!!
